Tips To Finding Your Over The Knee Boots
2016 Fall Trend: Over The Knee Boots
I have been hunting around for the perfect most comfortable over the knee boots and have found it challenging. A couple of weekends ago, I was at Nordstrom and there wereso many cute and sexy boots on sale. That moment when you ask the associate for your size and you are anticipating that this pair will be it!!! I tried them on and I couldn't get them up. Yes, sad moment!!! I have got to say, my hopes of finding a perfect pair are high, so I won't give up.
Over the knee boots can be a bit tricky and hard to find depending on the calf size and boot height. If you have a thinner and longer leg, you'll probably have better luck finding an over the knee boot that will fit you perfect. I have tried wide calf, but they are extremely big. So the search is on.
I researched of over the knee and regular boots. I had to take into consideration that I am not very tall. When you see a picture of a model wearing the boot, most often this boot is not going to fit you like the model.
Important points, when you shopping online or at a store make sure that you check the details of the measurements. Would you want to start with first is the circumference of the boot. That has to do with the measurement around your calf area your biggest part. Then you want to make sure to check the shaft height which is the height of the boot from the ankle to the knee or above the knee. These measurements really matter especially depending on your height.
If you are online shopping, look at the details:
- Calf measurements = The boot circumference
- Height = Boot shaft
- Partial inner side zipper = Ability to slip the foot into the boot easier
- Elastic goring on calf = Allows extra room to give a snug fit especially in the calf area
- 3 1/2" heel (size 8.5).
- 20" boot shaft
- 15 3/4" - 16 1/2" calf circumference. Stretches to fit wide calf.
- Partial side zipper closure
- Covered elastic goring
I was at Marshalls on Friday night and I found the most awesome over the knee boots by Sam Edelman "KENT" over the knee boot in a black suede and a gray color. I dared to try a pair on. The trick putting on the thigh high over the knee boot is to fold over the top of the boot inside out and over the shoe. Almost like you are slipping on a sock. The inner partial zipper on the side inside of it by the ankle makes it easy to slip your foot in the boot and to pull your leggings or pant down. I was able to roll it up. I was super excited!!!
The Dolce Vita "Cash" boot has a 3-inch heel. The price was $69.00. There 2 colors available, black and gray. I was able to find my size in a black pair. I couldn't find the gray color in my size. I called all the Marshalls and TJMaxx and they were completely sold out. Bummer!!! As soon as I got home I thought, I need to do some research and find the gray pair online. No such luck! Then I realized, I can't find this boot for $69.00!! The lowest price was $130.00 or $250.00. This boot was a great find!
Just make sure to check the details online or when you go to the store, try on the boots and they are a great fit, look them up online and look up the details and measurements of the boot so that you can shop easily for future boots.
I hope this helps Lovelies!!
